Charlie Yates the Cat needs a home
All of our dogs and cats are in foster homes and we have no paid staff. If you have questions concerning a specific animal, PLEASE fill out an application and the foster parent will be in touch. We will not arrange any home visits with any of our dogs and cats until your application is processed. Please understand our foster parents are precious to our 2nd Chance family; without them we cannot function, so we do our best to not burden them with multiple appointments. Our foster parents will choose their top 3 applications and arrange home visits with these applicants. The adopter will be chosen at that time. The process can take anywhere from a week to a month. We want to make sure our little furry ones are placed in their "forever home" and never have to go through a rehoming again!
Well my short life almost ended before it began. No one is quite sure what happened and hey I can't tell them but I laid beside a shed for 2 days!! The neighbors saw me but weren't sure what to do cause evidently people are told not to take small kittens because mom could come back for them but trust me no one was coming for me and I was literally being eaten alive by fleas!!! It didn't feel good at all and I was hungry, thirsty and hot :( I was REALLY lucky because the neighbor knew the Director of 2nd Chance and he sent her a message on this thing called Facebook and she came IMMEDIATELY and scooped me up! She took one look at me and knew I needed to go to the vet so on a Sunday I was saved and we made an emergency visit to Palmyra Animal Clinic where they are available 24/7 for their clients!! WOW!! The vet took one look at me and said ok we need to treat the eyes, the heart sounds good and oh no we are infested with fleas!!!! YUCK! They stuck me in this thing called a sink and used warm water and Dawn on me, now I didn't want to say anything to them but isn't Dawn for washing dishes?! Oh well the warm water felt good and guess what the fleas HATED the Dawn and Dawn is now my hero cause it KILLED them NASTY fleas!!! The water turned pink and I thought that's weird the dawn is blue and the water was clear and then I heard the Director and the vet say the poor thing the fleas were literally taking all the blood out of him!! Ohhh no :( The vet and the Director spent the next hour with a flea comb and a tweezers picking the fleas off of me! WOW I am so glad they thought I was worth it!
The Director took me home wrapped in a soft blanket and cuddled me. It was nice. Now I live in the kitten room with 8 other kittens and we have a BLAST 24/7. We run and jump and wrestle and play with these things call toys and climb our cat tree and climb all over the Director when she comes in and lays down on the floor to play with us! Its fun!!! She says we are all waiting for our FUREVER families. I think that must be a fun thing cause she smiles when she tells us!
